If you come to Sakaiminato, you should definitely do this! A huge Yokai stamp rally!
In this article, I will report on Sakaiminato's "Yokai Stamp Rally"!
The previous article wasHere
A selection of monsters that hit the sweet spot
The first thing that surprised me when I opened the stamp book (?) was the wide variety of stamps.
First of all, there are stamps of "GeGeGe no Kitaro", the main character of Mizuki's world, as well as "Cat Girl" and "Rat Man".
There are detailed explanations of the yokai, so even people who don't know much about yokai can enjoy it.
Among them is "Kitaro's Geta", but if you think about it, this isn't really a yokai...
That aside, I've picked out some of the yokai stamps that particularly caught my eye.
Oil removal
It is a monster from Amakusa, Kumamoto Prefecture. During the Meiji period,
While walking through the area where the old woman was haunted
"It seems that a monster called Aburasumashi used to appear around here."
To put it simply,
"Now too!"
He apparently showed up saying this.
It looks scary, but maybe you can still meet it?
It is a monster that makes you hopeful.
Furthermore, his face is so big that it makes me feel closer to him.
※My face is as big as Tommy's Miyabi.
Sticky
Walking alone down a dark street at night
It's a monster that follows you from behind. As you can see,
Isn't it kind of cute?
If you are possessed by this monster
When I chanted "Sticky, come first!"
It seems to disappear, but it's round.
Because it's somehow cute.
I think it might be okay if you keep coming with me...
Is it just me? (lol)
Kurabokko
A monster that lives in an old storehouse. Common in the Tohoku region.
A relative of the Zashiki Warashi. Also known as the god of fire prevention and happiness.
This popular monster is enshrined as a guardian deity in many shops in Sakaiminato.
In Sakaiminato, each store is assigned a yokai.
(For example, at XX Sake Brewery, there is a monster called "God of the Fields.")
At the store where Kurabocco was assigned
Mizuki-sensei said, "You drew a good monster!"
He apparently said that.
While Zashiki-warashi possess rooms, Kurabokko possess storehouses and other buildings.
I'm a monster, but my family has been a sake shop for generations.
There was a sake brewery there, so maybe
Perhaps a kurabokko had taken up residence there.
As you can see, there are many different kinds of monsters, so just looking at the stamp book
I can't stop feeling excited!
Stamp Rally Volume
Now, when I opened the stamp book, I was surprised by something else.
There are so many stamps!!
Let me count them...
Hiifuumiiii...
There were a total of 38 locations!!!
Huh? It spins that much?
Aren't stamp rallies usually around 10?
Even though I was surprised, I couldn't help but grin, knowing that I was going to have a lot of fun today.
Mr. Nakamura, who was accompanying us, was amazed at the sheer volume of stamps to be completed.
I lost my fighting spirit and gave up (laughs).
That can't be helped.
Because this stamp rallyAn unwavering love for monstersWithout it, you can never do itBecause it is!!!
As mentioned earlier, Yokai Road has
There are 153 bronze statues of monsters installed.
There are also 38 stamp points
Therefore, if you are not careful, you might miss the bronze statue and the stamp pad.
I had to go back and check several times.
As I walked along Yokai Road, I noticed a bronze statue and a stamp.
After looking at it from various angles, touching it a bit, and poking around,
Take a photo, check the image, and then take the photo again.
After enjoying the view to their heart's content, the group will share some interesting facts about yokai with Nakamura.
Mr. Nakamura stayed with me throughout this lecture.
That means about 200 bronze statues and stamps combined!
I was so engrossed in the Yokai that I didn't give it any thought,
He later said that he was so tired in the second half that he nearly lost consciousness (laughs).
Pushing through what you like without considering the other person's convenience...that's a bit like being a monster.
Yokai:Knowledgeable man"!
No, this is a bit weak. So...
Yokai:Pushy Salesman"!
Well, I told over a hundred short stories...
Yokai:The hundred-tale boy!"
This is it!!
It's a pesky thing that won't go away until you've told it more than 100 episodes.
In a certain Yokai Watch, he is known as a "long-talking yokai"
Apparently there is a monster called "Nagabana"
My policy with monsters is that I don't go for puns.
Anyway, to my monster-like poop crush
I'm grateful to Mr. Nakamura for accompanying me all morning.
Finally, we've reached the finish line!!
Slowly proceed as if licking the last
Get a stamp of Kitaro (dressed like a police officer) at the Yokai Police Box!
This completes all 38 locations.
Return to the tourist information center and look at the first page of your stamp book.
I got my completion certificate stamped.
There...
Now you too can be a monster expert!
It says:
We did it!!!
After pumping his fist in delight,
When I looked back, I saw Nakamura sitting on a bench.
Before I knew it, I had been walking around for over five hours.
Mr. Nakamura is an athlete, so he should have more stamina than me, but this time I won.
Perhaps I was walking while receiving energy from the yokai.
Just looking at the lively faces of the monsters made my heart flutter with excitement.
Strangely, I didn't feel tired at all. On the other hand, Nakamura was very interested in the monsters and, above all, the monsters that had transformed into monsters.
Maybe I was sucking up his energy (laughs).
No, but it's filled with 38 stamps.
The yokai guidebook would make a great souvenir.
Also, you will be seeing the faces of the monsters all day long,
I feel like I've become a little closer to them.
And the best part is, if you are a yokai freak,
He is one of the few people in Japan who can turn himself into a trivia monster.
No, I think it's the only one of its kind in Japan.
Anyway, whether you like yokai or not,
When you visit SakaiminatoYou should definitely do the Yokai Stamp Rallyis!
Well, I was very satisfied with the stamp rally, but at the halfway point of Yokai Road,
There was another tourist attraction, the Mizuki Shigeru Memorial Museum.
Next, I'd like to write about Mizukikan!
