[Class change] Yokai lover → Yokai researcher [Finished reading: Introduction to Yokai Culture]

This time I'd like to introduce some of the monster books I've read recently.
Introduction to Yokai Culture (Kazuhiko Komatsu)

http://books.rakuten.co.jp/rb/11749378/
This book is about monsters, demons, tengu, kappa, and spirits possessed.
An analysis of Japanese culture.
From a simple "Yokai otaku" to a "Yokai researcher"
I read it as a starter as possible.
For me, who had no education and few opportunities to read printed matter,
It was quite an ordeal... (sweaty)
This is what I think at times like this.
I wish I had studied more when I was a student.
Especially Japanese.
So I had no choice but to read it slowly and carefully.
As I flipped through the pages,
There was a lot more research done into folk culture than I had imagined.
Once again, yokai are closely related to Japanese culture...
It's almost like everything is related.
I learned my lesson.
After all, monsters are...The JapanThat's it.
What the world is paying attention to
There are samurai and ninjas, but there is actually more to it than that.
The darkness of Japan is there, and by knowing the darkness,
You can find light. This is something that is still true in modern Japan.

For smelly things...

I read this book and learned about how our ancestors created monsters, demons, tengu, and kappa.
How has it defined your life and how closely has it impacted your life?
I was (barely) able to guess.
And so, we begin to see a little of the dark side of modern Japan.
The number of suicides continues to increase.
Neglect, new diseases (including adult diseases), nuclear families
Cybercrime, fraud, obsolescence of politics, etc.
The various things that are eating away at Japan
Maybe we've put a lid on it.
Or maybe it's something you only notice when it happens to you.
People in the past believed that mysterious problems (darkness) that they could not solve were the work of monsters.
As we have been dealing with this assumption.
It is not a trend to leave things that cannot be solved to experts.
Perhaps each of us should pay careful attention to the darkness.
They lost interest in each other and put a lid on each other.
We are no longer able to fathom the pain and darkness.

What is missing in Japan today?

Regarding the various issues I want to raise,
People who do that kind of thing (ghosts?)
We can warn each other before problems appear.
It feels like if there is a relationship it would be possible to prevent it from happening in the first place.
So-calledPublic OpinionThat's it.
Such relationships include PTAs and neighborhood associations.
It only works partially
I wonder if there isn't one.
So, what about your neighbors?
Would you feel free to talk to me?
This is where Japan is now...
Public Opinion
I guess the annoying parts were more noticeable.
There were some parts that worked well.
To the neighbors who scold other people's children when they misbehave and cause trouble for others
Penalties were given properly and there was a culture of looking out for each other.
Even if there is something they want to say now, they will probably just post a notice through the management company.
This makes me even more suspicious about what happened to each house.
There are many people who think that this doesn't concern them, so the situation never improves.
According to this introduction to yokai culture, in the past, families were ostracized.PossessedAnd labelled it
discriminationIt was so extreme that the neighbors were desperate.
I imagine they followed the rules (although that's not a good thing!).
I guess you could call it nature's self-purification...
That has weakened,
It's like today's Japan
Seriously ill patients whose immune system is not functioning properlyI think so.
Many people know their neighbors' names (surnames) and family structure vaguely.
Isn't that all you know?
There may not be many people who drink tea with their neighbors.
Likes are easy to do on Facebook.
In real life, it's nice to hear a quick greeting like, "How are you?"
There are a lot of people who can't do it.
I think this must be the work of a monster...
From now on, I will use this book as a starting point to learn folklore.
We will continue to delve deeper into the subject from the perspective of yokai research.
This... does exist... a modern-day monster!
Stay tuned!
