Cursed Promise
Hello, it's been a while since my last update, this is Kamiyo. Whether it's a horror movie or a haunted house, loud noises are enough to scare you. There was a line in a manga I read a long time ago that said, "Even a picture of a puppy will scare you if it's accompanied by a loud sound!" And that's the truth.
I think that even when loud sounds are used in foreign splatter movies, this is one way of showing it, but when a loud sound suddenly starts playing in a Japanese horror movie with a more subdued feel, you feel like complaining, "No, that wasn't what it was supposed to be!" Perhaps this is because we have a preconceived notion that Japanese horror movies shock you with their atmosphere.
Well, this time I'm not going to talk about yokai, but aboutcurseI would like to write about ``.
To start this story, I would like to explain what a curse is. The definition of a curse is "a non-physical energy that brings misfortune or bad influence to a person." A simple example would be the midnight visit to a shrine, where a straw doll with the target's name written on it is hammered with a five-inch nail to bring misfortune to the target.
Come to think of it, no one has ever questioned this, but I wonder why they are made of straw. If straw was chosen as a material because it was easily available at the time, I feel that many things could be used as a substitute in modern times.
For example, tissues are easy to come by. Ordinary tissues are too thin to hold the shape of a human, so something thick and luxurious like a nose celebrity might be needed. A straw doll made of nose celebrity, for example. Will it cause rhinitis or something?

There was a time when the TV drama "Tales of the Unusual" had a curse-themed episode. The woman who appeared killed someone with a curse, but I remember that the law did not provide for the killing of someone with a curse, and the person could not be prosecuted. Indeed, there is no provision in the current legal system that defines a curse.
However, in 2017, due to a curse,There are people who have been arrested. The man who was arrested was a regular customer at a certain game center, and the victim was a woman who ran the game center. A straw doll with nails pierced and the victim's name written on its torso was discovered in the store's parking lot, and it was determined that the crime was committed by the regular customer. The police interpreted the man's presence in the doll as a threat to the woman by suggesting that he might harm her, and arrested him for intimidation.
No one was injured or misfortune befallen those around them as a result of the curse, but considering the anxiety and fear it caused to the victims, I think it was inevitable that he was arrested. It is generally said that midnight visits to the shrine are ineffective if seen by others, but the curse in this case was,A curse that assumes you will be seenIt is quite distinctive.
The above are just a few examples, but I think there is no problem in defining any action (words, posts, attitudes) that does not involve a physical element but causes ill feelings or frustration in others as a curse.

Strictly speaking, even words spoken from a conscience can have a negative effect on people, but if you were to worry about it that much, you wouldn't be able to say anything. There is not a single person in this world who has never cursed someone, so it would be nice if you could use your reason to restrain yourself from saying anything obviously malicious, and live peacefully without getting upset about the words and actions of others.
Oh, by the way, there are only about 10 weeks left until 2020. Is there anything you haven't done in 2019? Well then!
