Suspicious monster, black monk
I'm Kamiyo, and I've finally started watching Gegege no Kitaro season 6 from episode 1. Mana Inuyama is so cute.
The human heroine Yumeko-chan also appeared in the third season, but I think she was the first human heroine to appear as a main character. Kitaro was all lovey-dovey with Yumeko-chan, but for some reason he's been so cold towards Mana-chan that it makes me feel a little bad. I hope they can become friends soon...
Today, I would like to introduce a monster that appeared in the latest episode (at the time of writing) of Gegege no Kitaro."Black Monk"I would like to write an article about this.
Now, this may be preaching to the choir for all the yokai fans looking at this site, but sometimes there are yokai that make you question their sanity.A persimmon monster that asks you to pick and lick its buttocksOr,A monster with eyes on its buttOr...oh, it's all butts. The black monk I'm introducing this time is one of those monsters that makes you question their sanity.
This monster is relatively new, and its true nature was covered in the Yubin Hochi Shimbun newspaper published during the Meiji period. The article said that the black monk
"He appears in a certain house almost every night and licks the face of the sleeping woman."Apparently it's a monster.
By the way, it makes me sickBad breathApparently so. The article includes a picture of a man who appears to be the woman's husband jumping up in surprise at the black monk, so maybe he also has a fetish for stealing women.

This is what Kamiyo thought after reading the document. I think that those of you who have read this article up to this point are probably thinking the same thing.
… Could this youkai actually just be a suspicious person?
Furthermore, the fact that such an article was written is based on interviews with people involved."No, actually, that's a youkai, called Kurobouzu."So there is a person who said something like that.Maybe that's the culprit.
However, I was surprised to learn that even in the Meiji era, there were cases where such perverse crimes were blamed on monsters. I imagine the fear the women felt when this article was circulated must have been immense. We shouldn't blame everything on monsters.
By the way, the Yubin Hochi Shimbun is the predecessor of the Sports Hochi. I hope that the Sports Hochi will write an article about yokai again.
In the latest episode of Gegege no Kitaro, what kind of monster will Kurobozu appear as?Is it safe in many ways?, was a worrying time for Kamiyo.
