[Spoiler Alert] I went to see "Yokai Watch: King Enma and the Five Stories" with my 5-year-old and 2-year-old daughters.
2014 was the year when Yo-kai Watch became an explosive hit.
It was soon made into a movie, and I watched it with my daughter, who was 4 years old at the time.
I tried writing a review.
"[Spoiler Alert] My 4-year-old daughter and I watched "Yokai Watch: The Secret of Birth, Meow!""
This time, I brought along my 5-year-old daughter and my 2-year-old daughter.
It is the second part of the movie
Yo-kai Watch the Movie: King Enma and the Five Tales!
I went to see the movie!
Two kids this time, are you okay?
Now, before I jump straight into my impressions,
As part of our strategy to keep the kids quiet, we prepared food for both of them.
The popcorn is served in a special Koma-san shaped container. Ready to go!
※I may have been too gentle, but this is Tama's big day as a dad.
Five Stories
Well, as the sub-theme says,
There are five stories, so it's like a strange tale.
It appears to be structured as five short stories.
Throughout the story, the bond between monsters and humans is depicted little by little.
There are few jokes, but it's "touching"It is of the same ilk.
It seems like the first four episodes are foreshadowing the final episode.
However, perhaps because it was divided into five episodes, the first episode
It's short and the story develops very quickly.
It would have been fine to make it into a TV series.
I thought that if I didn't watch it continuously, my child wouldn't understand.
Dad was convinced of everything on his own.
It makes me cry
In fact, I was moved a few times.
The secret of the last birth is that the timing of crying is
I didn't have any, but this time there was something that really touched me.
There are many of them, and they are very good.
My 5-year-old daughter was crying too.Daddy is crying with me tooOnly
This guy is laughing out loud.
Especially in the Jibanyan part
Traveling back in time to the future, he becomes the owner in his previous life.
The scene where he meets Emi.
Even after death, the dog is desperately trying to help its owner
Jibanyan. And without the Yokai Watch.
Emi noticed this.
Finally, they have an emotional reunion.
"Emi-chan..."
"Red..."
You know what...I'm weak to that kind of thing.
To be honest, my 5-year-old daughter wasn't impressed by this scene.
This is a story that will make adults giddy.
By the way, Keita's other monster parts and Inaho's Christmas part
Even in the Koma-ka part, there were many scenes that made adults emotional.
Is this one for adults after all?
Are humans and monsters incompatible?
The sub-theme of this work is whether King Enma can coexist with humans and monsters.
In the previous four episodes, they have been testing human behavior and feelings in order to make a judgment.
Humans are foolish and incompatible, and are trying to cut off all ties with each other. "Nurarihyon"
I've included a picture from the Ukiyo-e period. It's completely different.
In my view, yokai represent lies, jealousy, resentment, pain, etc.
Considering that many monsters are born from the ugly hearts of humans,
Not only are they incompatible, but they are inseparable. Yokai cannot exist without humans.
It feels like humans and monsters are back to back.
In this work, the world of demons and the world of humans are clearly separated, which has broadened the worldview.
I thought so. I think Gegege no Kitaro also had an afterlife.
It's kind of unfair that humans can only live in the human world lol
What do you all think? Are youkai and humans incompatible?
About King Enma
This time, I noticed a setting about King Enma that is unique to Yo-kai Watch.
- It is the third generation
- There is no mention of the second generation
- Looks young
- Blonde
- Summon using two watches
- The last boss Nurarihyon is no match for me
Enma Daioh Jr. also appears in the manga, Yu Yu Hakusho.
I guess Emma-sama is a family business...
So that means Emma has a wife and siblings too???
I can't help but imagine all sorts of things.
I have written about King Enma on this blog before.
If you want to know more about King Enma, please check out that article.
But... take a look.
The real thing is scary, right?

summary
This time I didn't talk much about the children,
That's no surprise, my daughter has grown up.
I just watched Fuu 2 quietly.
My younger child just watches and imitates her older sister, so it's really easy.
The one who was laughing the loudest was Komajiro.
Trying to upgrade before the final boss
"Heyyyyyy"
"Phew~ (fart)"
I almost let out a fart (lol)
All the children in the venue were laughing out loud at this point.
There are some funny moments for children, but throughout the whole film...
It's a story that's carefully written for adults as well.
This is not a bad review.
Even Crayon Shin-chan can make adults cry their eyes out
There is a scene. It is important that adults are impressed firstThat's what I think.
Because it's easy to make kids laugh.
It would be fine if the whole thing was a comedy and involved vulgar farting.
I'm sure what this work wants to convey isloveThat's right.love.
Especially family love. This work is "family loveSpecializing in
There were a lot of moving stories.
To sum up, the movie Yo-kai Watch: King Enma and the Five Tales is nyan!
Because of love, humans are not worthless.
I think that even monsters can be connected because of love.
A great work that makes adults thinkThat was it.
Please take your children to the cinema.
