Nakanosawa Onsen Yuki-onna Festival 2025

The Yuki-Onna Festival is a unique festival unlike any other in the country, held every year in Nakanosawa Onsen Village, Inawashiro Town, Yama District, Fukushima Prefecture, to pray for abundant snow.
The History of the Yuki-onna Procession
In December 2018, the owner of "Konishi Shokudo" in Nakanosawa Onsen said, "Yokai-ya, this year has been a warm winter with little snow, so it looks like there won't be many people at the ski resorts...Can you call me Yuki-onna?" It started with a jokey remark, and when they called for participants, it garnered a great response, so they decided to hold it as part of the year-end get-togethers that are held throughout the year. The number of spectators has increased every year, and this year marks the seventh time it has been held.
About Nakanosawa Onsen
It is located in Inawashiro Town, Yama District, Fukushima Prefecture, on the road leading from National Route 115, which leads to Fukushima, to Habonari Pass.
Your first impression may be that there is nothing here. It is true that there is nothing here.
But there is silence, clear air that makes you healthy just by breathing, and a highly acidic sulfur spring that has been prized as a medicinal bath gushes forth. The amount is 13,400 liters per minute. It is the largest natural spring water volume from a single outlet in Japan. The moment you step in, you feel a slight tingling sensation, but your body will gradually warm up to its core.
This is the most recommended hot spring in the history of Yokaiya.
